Job summary

Floor & Decor is seeking a Design Consultant to in-store consult with customers, set appointments, and determine design needs for tile, wood, stone, and installation products across colors, textures, and patterns.

The role includes full-time and part-time options, with exemplary customer service and basic math skills required. Training on company systems and design applications is provided, with weekend and holiday hours expected.

Qualifications

One year of interior design experience or equivalent education/experience.
Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task.
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office suite.
Willing to work retail hours including weekends and some holidays.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Sets appointments and meets with customers to determine design needs and formulate a design plan.
Sells tile, wood, and stone products to complete the design plan.
Meets and exceeds established goals.
Manages design applications (SketchUp, Online Design Scheduler, MyOrder, Salesforce CRM).
Maintains customer contact and executes relationship selling from pre-appointment to post-purchase follow up.
Acts in alignment with the company’s core values.
Provides timely feedback on product needs and assortment gaps with the Design Studio Manager.
