Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor (Tax Advisor) to prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, conduct in-depth client interviews, and deliver personalized recommendations. You will build lasting client relationships, offer tax savings opportunities, and support clients with IRS notices and audits.

This in-person role emphasizes training, technology, and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

Completition of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent
5+ years of tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping experience
Experience preparing complex individual and business returns including tax planning, audits, and notices
Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly
Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses
Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications
Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities
