Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor to prepare accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, interviewing clients to assess financial situations and offer tailored recommendations.

You will build lasting client relationships, identify tax savings opportunities, and provide IRS support and audit guidance as needed. This is an in-person role at a local Block Advisors office, with comprehensive training and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Experience working in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications; provide clear recommendations.
• Build year-round client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and Block Advisors products.
