Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking an IOD Pharmacy Technician to support Southwest Urology in Middleburg Heights, OH. You will prepare, package, and dispense medications to patients, track prescriptions, and assist with claims and prior authorizations.

Location is on-site at Southwest Urology. The role requires 1–2 years of experience, a high school diploma or GED, and preferably PTCB certification, with strong customer service and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in pharmacy or related field preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience preferred.
• PTCB certification preferred.
• Knowledge of computer/telephone support in a health care setting preferred.
• Strong customer service background in health care preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication skills preferred.
• Proficient with computer processing functions and office equipment.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Accurately track prescriptions written by physicians.
• Maintain a daily log of all prescriptions dispensed.
• Supervise and monitor prescriptions to ensure compliant e-prescribing.
• Greet patients and explain the system, confirming patient information.
• Offer physician dispensing or e-prescriptions to a pharmacy of choice.
• Submit accurate patient information for claims and confirm proper capture.
• Coordinate with insurers to obtain prior authorizations for physician-dispensed medications.
• Follow up on submitted authorization requests as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
