Job summary

Cardinal Health’s cCARE Cancer Center in Fresno seeks an In Office Dispensing (IOD) professional to prepare, package, and dispense medications directly to patients in a clinical setting. You will track prescriptions, assist with e-prescribing, and coordinate with insurers for prior authorizations.

Responsibilities include patient interactions at the IOD window, accurate data entry in Pioneer, and adherence to Medicare guidelines while supporting the dispensing workflow.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
• 0-2 years related work experience or training preferred.
• Knowledge of computer/telephony support, preferably in a health care environment.
• Strong customer service background, preferably in health care environment.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Competence with computer processing functions and standard office equipment.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Accurately tracks all prescriptions written by physicians; maintains a daily log of prescriptions dispensed.
• Monitors and ensures compliance with Medicare guidelines and proper e-prescribing.
• Greets patients at the IOD window and explains the prescription system; offers physician dispensing or e-prescription options.
• Verifies patient prescription coverage using Centricity and Pioneer for accurate billing.
• Inputs physician dispensing prescriptions in Pioneer and submits accurate patient data for claims.
• Obtains prior authorizations for rejected medication claims and follows up as needed.
• Completes other assignments as directed by management.
