Job summary

Valley View Manor in Minnesota is seeking an in-house Speech-Language Pathologist to assess, diagnose, treat, and support residents with communication and swallowing disorders in a long-term care setting. The SLP will perform evaluations, provide therapy, address dysphagia, implement AAC, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote quality of life.

Requires MN licensure and ASHA certification, with geriatric experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
• ASHA certification or licensure.
• Valid MN state licensure/registration to practice independently.
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate residents to determine needs using interviews and tests.
• Provide therapy and intervention for speech, language, voice, fluency, or swallowing difficulties.
• Work with residents post-stroke or brain injury and other neurological conditions.
• Assess and treat dysphagia or feeding difficulties.
• Implement AAC systems and support client use.
• Engage in continuing education and professional development.
