Job summary
Shores of Worthington is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to assess, diagnose, and treat residents with communication disorders, speech impairments, and swallowing difficulties. The role offers in-house, full/part-time or PRN opportunities within a compassionate care setting.
The SLP will work with residents across cognitive and functional levels, providing individualized therapy and AAC support while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to enhance quality of life.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required to practice as an SLP.
- Certification or Licensing from ASHA and MN license required.
- Experience in long-term care/geriatric care preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate residents to determine communication needs.
- Provide therapy and intervention for speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing issues.
- Work with individuals with neurological disorders such as stroke or TBI.
- Assess and treat swallowing disorders (dysphagia) and feeding difficulties.
- Recommend and implement AAC systems to support nonverbal communication.
- Stay updated on evidence-based practices through continuing education.
