Job summary

Optum in Chicago's Englewood/Chatham/Hyde Park areas seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver home health therapy under a supervising PT. You will instruct patients, guide exercises, and educate families, following the plan of care while coordinating with the health team.

Qualified candidates are licensed as Physical Therapist Assistants, hold CPR, and own a valid driver's license with reliable transportation. Weekend rotation may be required.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observes, records, and reports to the supervising PT the patient's response to treatment and changes in condition.
• Coordinates care with other healthcare team members and educates patient/family on therapy within the scope of PTA.
• Works under the plan of care and follows supervision requirements.
