Job summary

Optum is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide care in the Englewood, Chatham, and Hyde Park areas of Chicago under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will perform treatment, educate patients, and follow a defined plan of care tailored to individual needs.

Responsibilities include active and passive exercise instruction, gait and transfer training, and coordinating with the care team. A weekend rotation is required, with opportunities for professional growth within the

Qualifications

Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
Current CPR certification.
Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
Available to work a weekend rotation

Responsibilities

Follow the established plan of care as defined by the supervising Physical Therapist.
Instructs and assists patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, and prosthetic training.
Observe and report patient responses and changes to the supervising PT, nurse, and physician.
Coordinate care with the healthcare team and educate patients and families about therapy within the PTA scope.
