Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking veterinarians to deliver in-home hospice, palliative care, and compassionate euthanasia services across the greater Boston area. Join a privately held, doctor-led practice that values autonomy and meaningful family relationships in end-of-life care.

You will independently travel to homes, provide clinical assessments, pain management, and compassionate support while maintaining professional records and collaborating with our veterinary and support teams.

Qualifications

• DVM degree from an accredited program and eligibility for licensure in Massachusetts.
• Ability to travel to client homes and work independently in a mobile setting.
• Strong communication skills for compassionate end-of-life conversations.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and euthanasia services within your service area.
• Travel independently to scheduled appointments and operate in a mobile veterinary environment.
• Perform examinations, administer medications, sedation, euthanasia, and other services per regulatory standards.
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options with empathy and clarity.
• Maintain accurate medical records and coordinate with Heartstrings veterinary team.
