Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking veterinarians to provide in-home hospice, palliative care, and compassionate euthanasia for pet families in Pennsylvania. This role offers autonomy, meaningful family interactions, and the ability to practice end-of-life veterinary care with intention in clients' homes.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree, active license in the state(s) where services will be provided.
• Ability to travel between scheduled in-home appointments in a mobile care setting.
• Strong communication skills for compassionate end-of-life conversations.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, and euthanasia services within assigned service areas.
• Travel independently to home visits and work in a mobile veterinary care environment.
• Perform examinations, administer medications, sedation, and euthanasia within regulatory scope.
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options with empathy.
• Maintain accurate medical records for each patient encounter.
• Collaborate with Heartstrings teams and referring veterinarians.
