Job summary

Access Personal Care Services in Emerald Isle, NC is seeking a Per Diem Personal Care Assistant to support a client in their home. The role includes daily living activities, mobility assistance, meal support, and medication reminders.

The position offers flexible hours and a friendly team within the Optum/UnitedHealth ecosystem. CPR is preferred, with training available, and a vehicle is required or access to reliable transportation.

Qualifications

Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle.
CPR certification preferred or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
6+ months of home care experience preferred
Ability to work flexible hours as required

Responsibilities

Provides or assists clients with activities of daily living including bathing, hair care, denture care, nail care, and skin care.
Assists with transfers between bed, chair, and wheelchair and helps with bedpan or toilet.
Supports ambulation with cane, walker, or crutches and helps with dressing.
Reminds and assists with taking medications as ordered.
Assists with meals according to the client’s diet and may assist with feeding.
Cares for home safety and provides safe environment using equipment when needed.
Drives client to medical appointments or runs essential errands.
Live-in and Sleep Over shifts available in some regions.
