Job summary

Access Personal Care Services, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Per Diem Personal Care Assistant in Jacksonville, NC to support clients to live safely at home. Provide daily living assistance, including bathing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation to appointments, and basic health monitoring under supervision.

The role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care and reliable scheduling.

Qualifications

• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation

Responsibilities

• Provides or assists with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, denture care, nail care, skin care, transfers, ambulation, dressing, and medication reminders.
• Live-in and sleep-over care when applicable, securing home and staying with client during nighttime hours where offered.
• Assists with essential household tasks tied to client care and accompanies client to medical appointments or errands
• Measures and records temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered within scope
• Prepares meals per client diet and may assist with feeding as needed
• Maintains a clean, safe home environment with required equipment like side rails and mobility aids
