Job summary

MaineTouch is seeking Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home non-medical support to adults and seniors. No experience needed; training and ongoing supervision are provided.

Earn $17.00–$20.00 per hour with pay increases based on performance and certifications. Flexible full-time or part-time schedules, day/evening/weekend shifts, and mileage reimbursement are available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in Maine or willingness to enroll within 60 days of hire.
• CNA (active or inactive) accepted.
• No experience required - training and support provided.
• Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred (assignment dependent).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and basic hygiene.
• Support mobility and transfers, including safe movement with or without mobility aids.
• Help with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens.
• Assist with meal preparation, meal serving, grocery shopping, and errands as outlined in the care plan.
• Provide companionship and conversation and support daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe and report changes in a client’s condition or safety concerns to your supervisor.
• Follow all instructions and perform only tasks listed in the client’s service plan.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines during all client interactions.
• Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and MaineTouch policies.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and report incidents immediately.
• Treat all clients with dignity and respect.
• Maintain dependable attendance and follow assigned schedules.
• Follow MaineTouch policies and participate in required training.
