Job summary

The Homecare Company of Tennessee is seeking a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in Maynardville, TN to provide non-medical, hands-on assistance in clients' homes under RN supervision. You will support daily living activities, mobility, hydration, and meal prep, while maintaining dignity and client comfort.

Responsibilities include light housekeeping, companionship, documentation, and effective communication with the nursing team, ensuring HIPAA compliance and high-quality, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and Car Insurance.
• Must have reliable transportation without needing assistance from another person or company.
• Ability to read, write, and carry out directions.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral hygiene.
• Support mobility needs, including transferring, positioning, and ambulation assistance as directed by the RN.
• Provide assistance with feeding and hydration according to client care plans.
• Observe and report changes in client’s physical or emotional condition to supervising nurse immediately.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe, sanitary environment.
• Assist with meal preparation following dietary guidelines provided by RN or physician.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Run errands or accompany clients to appointments as approved.
• Accurately document care provided and client observations in daily visit notes.
• Communicate effectively with supervising nurse, care team, and family.
• Maintain confidentiality of all client information per HIPAA.
