Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve families in Fox Chapel, Murrysville, and Plum, Pennsylvania. This role offers autonomy outside a traditional clinic, with compassionate end-of-life care in the home.

You'll provide hospice, palliative care, and euthanasia services, travel to appointments in a mobile setting, and maintain thorough medical records while collaborating with a dedicated veterinary team.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license for the practicing state(s).
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel between appointments.
• Comfortable working independently as a mobile veterinarian.
• Willingness to participate in rotational weekend scheduling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia services.
• Travel independently to scheduled appointments in a mobile care setting.
• Perform examinations, clinical assessments, medication administration, sedation, euthanasia, and documentation.
• Educate families about end-of-life options with empathy and clear communication.
• Maintain accurate medical records and collaborate with Heartstrings teams.
• Safely handle and assist with movement of companion animals during visits.
