Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking in-home hospice and euthanasia veterinarians to serve pet families across the Wexford, Cranberry, and Sewickley areas in Pennsylvania. This role offers professional autonomy, meaningful family relationships, and the opportunity to practice end-of-life veterinary care with compassion in the homes of client families.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel between in-home appointments.
• Comfortable working independently as a mobile veterinarian.
• Demonstrated empathy and professional communication during sensitive hospice discussions.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia services.
• Travel independently to scheduled appointments and work in a mobile veterinary care environment.
• Perform physical exams, clinical assessments, medication administration, sedation, euthanasia, and related services.
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options with empathy and clarity.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient encounter.
• Collaborate with Heartstrings team and referring veterinarians as needed.
