Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve families throughout Louisville, Middletown, Jeffersontown and surrounding areas in Kentucky. This role offers autonomy, meaningful relationships, and the chance to practice end-of-life care at home.

As a mobile veterinarian, you will travel to homes, provide hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia, while maintaining professional records and collaborating with our team.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD/BVMS or equivalent degree from an accredited program
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel between appointments
• Ability to work independently as a mobile veterinarian
• Strong communication skills for sensitive end-of-life conversations
• Availability for rotational weekend scheduling
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with weights up to 100 pounds
• Background and motor vehicle record checks completed after hire

Responsabilités

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, pain and symptom management, and euthanasia services
• Travel to scheduled appointments in a mobile care environment
• Perform physical examinations and clinical assessments
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options
• Maintain accurate veterinary records and documentation
• Communicate with families, Heartstrings team, and referring professionals
• Safely handle and assist with movement of animals during visits
• Maintain professionalism and clinical independence while working in the field
• Demonstrate Compassion, Dignity, Respect in all interactions
