Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking Associate Veterinarians to provide compassionate in-home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care in Louisville and surrounding areas. You’ll work independently in the field while supported by a leadership team and specialists, delivering meaningful medicine in a privately owned practice.

We value autonomy, flexibility, and a supportive team, with comprehensive training provided.

Qualifications

• DVM, VMD, or BVMS from an accredited veterinary school.
• Active veterinary license in the state of practice or ability to obtain one.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Availability for some weekends on a rotating schedule.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home euthanasia, hospice, and palliative care in a compassionate, Fear Free–aligned manner.
• Support families through the end-of-life process with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
• Collaborate with medical leadership and support teams.
• Participate in ongoing training and clinical development.
