Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families throughout Chandler & Gilbert, Arizona. This role offers professional autonomy, meaningful relationships, and the opportunity to practice compassionate end-of-life veterinary care in the comfort of clients' homes.

As a mobile veterinarian, you will provide in-home hospice, palliative care, and compassionate euthanasia, with flexible scheduling and a doctor-led team focused on client-centered

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services are provided.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel between appointments.
• Ability to work independently as a mobile veterinarian.
• Excellent communication during pet hospice and end-of-life discussions.
• Rotational weekend availability as required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, QoL support, pain and symptom management, and compassionate euthanasia.
• Travel independently to scheduled appointments in a mobile care setting.
• Perform physical exams, sedation, euthanasia, and other veterinary services within regulatory scope.
• Educate families on QoL decisions, care options, euthanasia, and aftercare.
• Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation.
• Communicate professionally with families, team, and referring veterinarians.
• Safely handle and assist with movement of companion animals during visits.
• Demonstrate Heartstrings' commitment to Compassion, Dignity, Respect in every interaction.
