Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve Rocklin, Granite Bay, Woodland, Loomis and surrounding areas in California. If you value autonomy, meaningful family connections, and careful end-of-life care, this role offers a unique path outside traditional clinics.

We provide in-home hospice, palliative care, and compassionate euthanasia in a private, doctor-led practice with no non-compete.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel to in-home appointments.
• Ability to work independently as a mobile veterinarian.
• Strong empathy and professionalism in end-of-life conversations.
• Availability for rotational weekend scheduling and safety checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia services.
• Independently travel to scheduled appointments in a mobile care setting.
• Perform examinations, assessments, medications, sedation, euthanasia, and documentation.
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options.
• Maintain accurate medical records and coordinate with the Heartstrings team.
• Safely handle and assist with movement of companion animals during visits.
