Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families in Mason, Sharonville and Blue Ash, Ohio, and surrounding areas. This role offers professional autonomy, compassionate end-of-life care, and the chance to build meaningful relationships with families in the comfort of their homes.

Ideal candidates have a DVM, active license, and the ability to travel between appointments.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the state of service.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel to appointments.
• Comfortable working independently in the field.
• Strong empathy for families during sensitive conversations.
• Willingness to participate in rotational weekend scheduling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Background checks completed prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice and euthanasia services.
• Travel to scheduled appointments in a mobile environment.
• Perform exams, assessments, sedation, euthanasia as permitted.
• Educate families on quality-of-life and end-of-life options.
• Maintain medical records and documentation.
• Collaborate with Heartstrings team and referring vets.
• Safely handle animals during visits.
• Work independently with professional judgment.
• Uphold Compassion, Dignity, Respect.
