Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families throughout Rocklin, Granite Bay, Woodland & Loomis, California & Surrounding Areas.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel between scheduled in-home visits.
• Ability to work independently as a mobile veterinarian.
• Strong communication with pet families during end-of-life conversations.
• Availability for rotational weekend scheduling.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with heavier loads.
• Background and motor vehicle record checks required.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia services.
• Travel to scheduled appointments in a mobile veterinary care setting.
• Perform physical exams, clinical assessments, medication administration, sedation, euthanasia, and other services within regulatory scope.
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options with empathy.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Communicate professionally with families, Heartstrings team, and referring veterinarians.
• Safely handle animals during in-home visits.
• Demonstrate professionalism and clinical independence while in the field.
