Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families in Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Leander, Texas. This role offers autonomy, meaningful family relationships, and the chance to practice end‑of‑life veterinary care in the home setting.

We emphasize compassionate care, professional autonomy, and no veterinarian non-compete agreements, with competitive compensation and generous benefits.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD or equivalent with active state license.
• Ability to travel between appointments by car.
• Comfortable working in clients' homes.
• Excellent communication with pet families.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and assist with heavier pets if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, pain management, and euthanasia services.
• Travel independently to scheduled appointments in a mobile veterinary care setting.
• Perform physical exams, assessments, medication administration, sedation, euthanasia, and related services.
• Educate families on quality-of-life decisions and end-of-life options with empathy.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient encounter.
• Communicate professionally with families, Heartstrings team, and referring veterinarians.
• Safely handle and move companion animals during visits.
• Remain professional and independent with sound medical judgment.
