Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring veterinarians for in-home hospice, palliative care, and compassionate euthanasia across Fort Worth and surrounding areas. This role offers professional autonomy, meaningful family relationships, and a schedule beyond traditional clinics.

You will work in clients' homes, delivering high-quality end-of-life care, communicating with families with empathy, and collaborating with a dedicated Heartstrings team. Flexibility and autonomy are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and an active license in the states where services are provided.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel between appointments.
• Comfortable working independently as a mobile veterinarian with support from Heartstrings.
• Strong communication with empathy during sensitive end-of-life conversations.
• Availability for rotational weekend scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, and compassionate euthanasia within your service area.
• Travel to scheduled in-home appointments and work in a mobile veterinary setting.
• Perform exams, assessments, sedation, euthanasia, and related veterinary services.
• Educate and guide families through quality-of-life decisions and care options.
• Maintain accurate medical records and collaborate with Heartstrings teams.
• Uphold professionalism, clinical judgment, and compassionate patient care in the field.

Education
