Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking veterinarians to provide in-home hospice, palliative care, and compassionate euthanasia across Fort Worth, Benbrook, Richland Hills, Saginaw, and North Richland Hills, Texas. This role offers autonomy outside traditional clinics, with time to connect with families and deliver meaningful end-of-life care in the home.

Ideal candidates have a DVM and are comfortable traveling between residences as part of a mobile veterinary practice.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) of service or eligibility.
• Willingness to travel between in-home appointments.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, pain and symptom management, and compassionate euthanasia services within your assigned service area.
• Independently travel to scheduled appointments and work in a mobile veterinary setting.
• Perform physical examinations, clinical assessments, and medications in home environments; administer euthanasia when appropriate.
• Educate and guide pet families through end-of-life decisions with empathy and clear communication.
• Maintain accurate veterinary records for each patient encounter and coordinate with the Heartstrings team.
