Job summary

Children's Institute provides in-home education, support and resource services to children, parents, pregnant women and families in accordance with their specific needs. The program collaborates with families to develop individualized goals, promote parent-child bonding, and maintain case notes and reports.

Staff conduct weekly home visits, assess family needs, and ensure services align with the IFSP and child development objectives, while supporting confidentiality and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• 1 year of home visitation, early childhood services, or community-based programs experience.
• Associate degree in early childhood education, social work, psychology, childhood development, or a related field required.
• B.A in early childhood education or related field preferred.
• For Early Head Start Home Visitors only: 12 units of early childhood education/child development core courses outlined in the CCTC Child Development Matrix.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the parent to develop and implement an individualized program for the family in accordance with individual needs of each child, his/her interests, abilities, disabilities, individual style and pace of learning.
• Promotes parent-child bonding and nurturing parent-child relationships through facilitating developmentally and culturally appropriate interactions and communication.
• Develops and maintains appropriate case notes and other records and prepares periodic reports as required.
• Meets productivity standards and maintains an appropriate caseload to reach weekly client contact.
