Job summary

Children’s Hope Alliance seeks a Family Support Specialist to provide intensive, home-based visitation services for pregnant people and families with young children across the CVHF service area. The role emphasizes family-centered, strength-based planning, goal setting, and linkage to community resources.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, maintaining regular contact, developing Family Service Plans, delivering parent education, and coordinating with local agencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Bilingual abilities (Spanish/English) are preferred.
• Knowledge of infant and child development is expected.
• Experience working with children and families is preferred.
• Ability to establish trusting relationships and work with diverse families.
• Must have a valid North Carolina Driver’s License and pass safety checks.

Responsibilities

• Engage referred families and conduct initial assessments; document scores.
• Provide long-term home visitation with hour-long visits and 24/7 on-call support.
• Develop and update an individualized Family Service Plan for each family.
• Support parents in problem solving, coping, and advocacy.
• Deliver parent education using curricula such as Partners for a Healthy Baby.
• Screen families with ASQ-3 / ASQ-SE and refer as needed.
