Job summary

Home Health Services of Virginia is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide in-home residential services to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. You will work one on one in clients' homes to help them reach their goals in the least restrictive setting.

The role involves assisting with budgeting, daily living tasks, health and safety, and community access, plus documentation and progress reporting. You will participate in trainings and supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some PCA/CNA caregiving experience is required.
• At least one year experience caring for individuals with developmental or physical disabilities.
• Valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
• Reliable computer for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with budgeting and money management.
• Guide individuals with completing necessary hygienic and household tasks.
• Engage individuals in social activities.
• Support individuals with ADL/IADL completion.
• Support individuals with community access.
• Ensure individual health and safety is maintained.
• Complete daily progress notes describing progress.
• Complete quarterly reports describing progress.
• Follow ISPs and attend trainings and supervision sessions.
• Maintain client confidentiality and facilitate conflict resolution.
• Attend physician appointments and related assessments.
