Job summary

Home Health Services of Virginia is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide in-home, one-on-one support to individuals with developmental disabilities. You will help with daily tasks, health and safety, budgeting, and community activities to help clients reach their goals in the least restrictive setting.

You will document progress, attend trainings, and collaborate with families, physicians, and therapists to ensure quality care and adherence to plans and regulations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates understanding of medical terminology and documentation practices.
• Shows organizational and problem-solving abilities and flexibility in schedules.
• Has CPR/First Aid certification and medication management skills.
• Knows DMAS/DBHDS regulations and ID Waiver requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home residential support to individuals with ID or developmental disabilities.
• Assist with budgeting, money management, and daily tasks in homes.
• Guide individuals with hygienic and household activities and ADL/IADL tasks.
• Engage individuals in social activities and community access.
• Maintain health and safety and document progress daily.
• Attend supervision and training sessions and complete required reports.
