Job summary
Home-Health-Services-of-Virginia in Newport News seeks Direct Support Professionals to provide in-home residential services to individuals with developmental disabilities. You will work one-on-one to help individuals achieve their goals in the least restrictive setting.
Responsibilities include assisting with daily living tasks, budgeting, hygiene, social activities, and community access. You will document progress daily and quarterly, follow Individualized Service Plans, and participate in
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in PCA/CNA care-giving preferred
- One year experience with individuals with developmental or physical disabilities
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
- Reliable computer for documentation
- Current negative two part PPD test
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Medicaid Waiver Competency
- Background checks cleared
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities and ADLs/IADLs
- Support budgeting and money management
- Guide hygienic and household tasks
- Engage individuals in social activities and community access
- Complete daily progress notes and quarterly reports
- Follow ISPs and document goals and outcomes
- Attend trainings and supervision sessions
- Maintain client confidentiality and safety
- Support transportation and physician appointments as needed
