Job summary

Addus HomeCare is urgently hiring Flex Home Care Aides to support clients at home who need daily assistance. The Home Care Aide - Core is on call for 5 days per week, with 40 hours total and 20 guaranteed.

Responsibilities include following care plans, assisting with personal care, light housekeeping, meals, transportation, and medication self-administration. You must be 18+, pass a background check, have reliable transportation, and be compassionate, organized and self-motivated.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient care approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
• Ability to follow care plans and instructions.
• Capable of working with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Follow specific care plans for clients and report on completed tasks.
• Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing).
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
• Transport client to doctor appointments, grocery store, and other errands.
• Assist client with self-administration of medications.
• Observe and report changes in client’s condition.
• Be on call for 24-hour shifts; work 5 days per week (including at least one weekend day).
