Job summary

Life Skills Autism Academy, a division of Centria Autism, is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician to provide direct 1:1 and group ABA therapy in a center setting in Norfolk, VA. The role focuses on high-impact teaching, data collection, and caregiver collaboration to support children's communication, daily living, and social skills.

The position requires RBT certification, willingness to undergo background checks, and CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain current RBT certification (BACB).
• Willing to participate in background check.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
• Willing to obtain TB test annually.
• Physically able to perform job (lift up to 50 lbs).
• Strong attention to detail; perform repetitive tasks precisely.
• Follow detailed instructions.
• Tech-savvy to record data on mobile devices.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong cultural competency and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and group direct client care using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
• Follow protocols in client's individualized treatment plan created by BCBA/BC.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
• Assist with parent and caregiver training per treatment protocols.
• Ensure timely documentation per procedures.
• Communicate progress to parents/caregivers as instructed by BCBA/BC.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work and therapy environment.
• Assist BCBA/BC in preparing client materials and assessments.
