Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Foreign Trade, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in import/export administration, logistics, trade compliance, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of import/export classification, HTS codes, country of origin requirements, FTAs, and international trade regulations.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, including Title 19 CFR.
  • Experience preparing and managing import/export documentation and regulatory filings.

  • Coordinate import and export logistics activities with customers, freight forwarders, shipping teams, and customer service representatives.
  • Review, approve, and release international sales orders while ensuring transaction accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Prioritize customer orders and shipments to meet business and customer requirements.
  • Support investigations and resolution of customer disputes related to shipping, documentation, and logistics activities.
  • Classify products and materials using HTS codes and maintain classification records.
  • Maintain import/export compliance records and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare, process, and manage AES and EEI filings in accordance with government regulations.
  • Create and maintain import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, shipping papers, certificates, and related records.

Job Overview

The Import/Export Administrator is responsible for supporting international trade and logistics activities while ensuring compliance with applicable import and export regulations. This role serves as a key liaison between customers, freight forwarders, suppliers, shipping teams, and internal departments to facilitate the timely and compliant movement of goods worldwide. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate import and export logistics activities with customers, freight forwarders, shipping teams, and customer service representatives.
  • Review, approve, and release international sales orders while ensuring transaction accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Prioritize customer orders and shipments to meet business and customer requirements.
  • Support investigations and resolution of customer disputes related to shipping, documentation, and logistics activities.
  • Classify products and materials using Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and maintain classification records.
  • Maintain import/export compliance records and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare, process, and manage AES and EEI filings in accordance with government regulations.
  • Create and maintain import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, shipping papers, certificates, and related records.
  • Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures related to international trade compliance.
  • Audit and monitor transactions with vendors, suppliers, customers, and logistics providers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure shipments are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Stay current with import/export regulations, trade compliance requirements, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Conduct or support compliance-related training and awareness initiatives.
  • Perform quality checks in accordance with established procedures and ISO standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S methodologies.
  • Adhere to all company safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Foreign Trade, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in import/export administration, logistics, trade compliance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of import/export classification, HTS codes, country of origin requirements, free trade agreements, and international trade regulations.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, including Title 19 CFR.
  • Understanding of applicable import/export laws and regulations administered by government agencies.
  • Experience preparing and managing import/export documentation and regulatory filings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as JD Edwards is preferred.
