Job summary

OIA Global in Torrance, CA is seeking an Import Coordinator to manage import transactions for major accounts, including quotes, tracking, and invoicing. The role emphasizes timely customer service and compliance with regulations.

The position starts at $40.11 per hour with a Monday–Friday schedule (7:00am–4:00pm or 8:00am–5:00pm) and potential overtime. Freight forwarding experience preferred, especially ocean imports, and CargoWise experience is a plus.

Qualifications

1 year freight forwarding experience, ocean imports; air freight experience is a plus.
Familiarity with CargoWise Enterprise is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Promote a positive relationship with the client by ensuring excellent and timely customer service.
Track and review shipping status to ensure timely departure, arrival and delivery; enter milestones.
Process data through our freight management system and obtain bank releases and other gov’t releases as appropriate.
Process arrival notices for incoming shipments.
Communicate with customs brokers and logistics providers to resolve issues or delays.
Create quotations for shipments, estimate prices and negotiate competitive rates.
Obtain proper approval and release from customers and signed proof of delivery.
Audit, pay, and record freight, duty, and other bills within 48 hours of receipt.
