Job summary

Priority Worldwide is seeking an Import Operations Agent in Hanover, MD or Los Angeles, CA. You will process import shipments, manage customs entries, and coordinate with overseas partners to ensure on-time, compliant deliveries.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, documentation, and proactive issue resolution. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in freight forwarding imports, knowledge of customs regulations, and proficiency with CargoWise, MS Office, and MS Teams.

• Strong computer skills and ability to work with digital systems.

Responsibilities

• Process import shipments and customs entries accurately and efficiently.
• Handle international shipments from start to finish (A–Z).
• Coordinate with overseas partners and clients to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Maintain daily communication and updates for internal teams and customers.
• Support compliance with Customs, Bonded Warehouse, and CTPAT requirements.
• Prepare quotes, manage documentation, and maintain vendor relationships.
• Manage high volumes of emails and phone calls with professionalism and urgency.
• Deliver strong customer service and contribute to a positive team culture.
• Ensure accurate shipment documentation and updates.
• Monitor shipments and proactively resolve transit issues.

We are currently looking for an Import Operations Agent to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with freight forwarding experience who is looking to continue building their career in international logistics within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

• Process import shipments and customs entries accurately and efficiently
• Handle international shipments from start to finish (A–Z)
• Coordinate with overseas partners and clients to ensure on-time, compliant deliveries
• Maintain daily communication and updates for internal teams and customers
• Support compliance efforts with Customs, Bonded Warehouse, and CTPAT requirements
• Prepare quotes, manage documentation, and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Manage high volumes of emails and phone calls with professionalism and urgency
• Deliver strong customer service and contribute to a positive team culture
• Ensure accurate and timely shipment documentation and updates
• Monitor shipments and proactively resolve transit issues

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 1 year of experience in freight forwarding imports
• Strong understanding of customs regulations, tariffs, and classifications
• Proficiency in CargoWise, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Teams
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• A desire to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
• Strong computer skills and comfort working with digital systems, email-based workflows, and AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency and support daily operations
• Ability to manage high-volume communication (emails and phone calls) with professionalism and urgency
• Strong customer service skills with a solutions-focused mindset
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available for this role
• Must be able to work on-site in either Hanover, MD (Baltimore area) or Los Angeles, CA

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $50,000–$65,000 annually (based on experience)
