Job summary

Catapult Learning in Rhode Island seeks tutors to support reading, mathematics, and writing in K-12 schools. You will diagnose skill gaps, collaborate with school staff, and discuss student progress with parents while applying prescribed instructional methods using our materials.

We offer year-round and summer opportunities with both full-time and part-time options, at a pay rate of $35 per hour. FBI/BCI background check is required, and teaching experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Non-licensed tutors: associate degree or at least 48/72 college hours.
• Licensed tutors: RI-approved teaching credentials.
• FBI/BCI background check required.
• Teaching experience is preferred.
• Belief in every child’s ability to learn.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional methods.
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate services for students.
• Communicate student progress with parents.
• Deliver instruction using company-designed materials and strategies.
• Attend trainings and document meetings with supervisors and teachers.
• Develop and maintain individualized, skill-based lesson plans.
• Ensure supervision and safety of students during sessions.
• Maintain student forms and files as required by authorities.
• Attend and participate in program-wide trainings and meetings.
• Manage inventory of educational materials.
