Job summary

Catapult Learning, Inc. in Suffield, CT is seeking a part-time tutor to provide contracted instructional services in reading, mathematics, and writing for students in collaboration with school staff.

You will diagnose learning skill deficits, coordinate with teachers and parents, and deliver prescribed instructional methods using our proven curriculum and materials. We support your professional growth with ongoing training and resources, and compensation starts at $35 per hour, with

Qualifications

• Non-licensed tutors: individuals with an associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher education; or at least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours).
• Licensed tutors: teachers with proper credentials recognized by the State of [XXXX] as Properly Licensed Teacher.
• Tutors must complete an FBI/BCI background check.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Unwavering belief that all children can learn.
• Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional delivery methods.
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate services.
• Communicate with parents about student progress.
• Deliver prescribed instructional delivery methods across reading, math, and writing.
• Attend training and implement instructional models and strategies.
• Develop and maintain individualized, skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Supervise students and escort them to sessions.
• Maintain student forms and files as required.
• Attend meetings with supervisors, teachers, principals, and parents.
• Maintain inventory of educational materials.
• Other duties as assigned.
