Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Clinic Scheduler/Insurance Specialist to manage patient financial accounts and insurance-related tasks while coordinating all aspects of surgery scheduling. The role requires accuracy in verification, pre-authorizations, and referrals, while serving as a liaison across departments.

You will schedule surgeries, revise or cancel appointments, and ensure compliance with Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience as a surgery scheduler.
• Medical terminology, computer skills, telephone etiquette, and strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient financial account services, including benefit assessment, insurance verification, pre-certification, pre-authorization, and referrals management.
• Schedule all surgery appointments and adjust as needed; act as interdepartmental liaison for scheduling functions.
• Maintain familiarity with Mercy scheduling processes and uphold Mercy Service Standards.
