Job summary

Almost Family is seeking a Supported Employment Job Developer in Spring Valley, CA. This part-time role focuses on providing career development and job placement services to adults with IDD, helping clients identify interests, develop job-ready skills, and secure competitive employment in San Diego communities.

You will build relationships with local employers, support the client’s microenterprise promotion, and assist with onboarding and ongoing employment support.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Must pass DOJ/FBI Live Scan background clearance.
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency with smartphones or tablets for real-time documentation and scheduling.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Reliable, punctual, and professional behavior.
• Certification in ACRE/Basic Employment or CESP (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Career Discovery & Assessment: identify client strengths and goals through person-centered conversations and community exploration.
• Job Development & Placement: conduct searches, submit applications, coordinate interviews, and build employer relationships.
• Employer Outreach & Community Engagement: outreach to businesses and community partners to promote inclusive hiring.
• Resume & Interview Preparation: assist with resumes and interview practice.
• Worksite Analysis: evaluate job sites and break down tasks for training.
• Onboarding & Initial Training Support: provide coaching during early employment stages.
• Employer Liaison: be the main contact for employers with timely follow-ups.
• Documentation & Compliance: maintain progress notes and reports per IPP and agency standards.
• Professional Communication: collaborate with supervisors, employers, and partners while maintaining confidentiality.
