Job summary

At Peace Health Care is seeking an empathetic Employment Specialist to provide Supported Employment services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community-based and local employer sites.

You will help clients identify employment goals, prepare resumes, apply for jobs, and connect with local employers, while coaching on job duties, attendance, and workplace behavior to foster independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in human services preferred.
• Ability to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build relationships with community employers.
• Independent work in community-based settings; strong documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered Supported Employment services based on ISP, strengths, needs, and goals.
• Assist individuals with identifying career interests and employment preferences.
• Support job searching, applications, résumé development, interview prep, and employer outreach.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local employers.
• Complete job analyses and task analyses to identify duties and supports.
• Provide on-the-job coaching and systematic instruction.
• Use teaching strategies like modeling, prompts, visual supports, and task analysis.
• Help develop workplace skills: attendance, communication, time management, and behavior.
