Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Speech-Language Pathology program and MS degree.
• No experience required; 1–2 years in academic/large medical center settings preferred.
• Must maintain a current CT license or temporary permit to practice as an SLP; ASHA membership required; current BLS certification.
• Age-specific knowledge in anatomy/physiology, psychology, and SLP theory; strong observation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients in inpatient and outpatient settings as assigned.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team and participate in rounds and discharge planning.
• Provide patient and family education and communication of care plans.
• Delegate appropriately to therapy staff and supervise students as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient care documentation and billing per policy.
