Job summary

Yale New Haven Health System is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients in inpatient and outpatient settings within our Rehabilitation Services. The role collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team and provides essential duties including documentation, education, and administration.

Responsibilities include interpreting referrals, supervising staff, maintaining accurate patient records, and pursuing ongoing professional development; CT licensure and ASHA

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Speech Language Pathology program or equivalent with MS degree.
• Must maintain a current unencumbered license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in CT; BLS certification within two months of hire; ASHA membership required.
• No experience required; 1–2 years experience preferred in academic/large medical center based practice; experience with a variety of diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician referrals to perform basic clinical evaluations.
• Utilize assistants and support staff appropriately in patient care delivery.
• Delegate responsibilities to therapy assistants, students and support staff with appropriate supervision.
• Maintain concise and accurate patient care documentation and billing.
• Engage in professional development and attend department in-services to expand knowledge.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment and report malfunctions and take corrective action.
