Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, a ChanceLight company, seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary students with IEPs in an alternative education setting. You will design engaging, personalized learning experiences and integrate educational software to meet diverse needs.

You will lead differentiated instruction, collaborate with staff, and implement PBIS to foster a positive classroom climate while aligning with state standards and school expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• IL professional educator credential (PEL) in process or current.
• IL Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) credential in process or current.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Experience with curriculum development and differentiation.
• Experience with IEPs and special education services.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for elementary students with IEPs.
• Deliver targeted instruction using varied curricula and software.
• Develop detailed daily lesson plans aligned to standards.
• Maintain student records and report progress regularly.
• Collaborate in a co-teaching environment to meet IEP goals.
• Implement PBIS strategies and manage the classroom climate.
• Provide guidance on differentiation and instructional methods.
