Job summary

CPS seeks a Substitute Special Education Classroom Assistant (SECA) to support students with disabilities across elementary and high school settings. You will reinforce individualized instruction, provide one-on-one tutoring, and assist with activities to promote learning and safety under teacher direction.

The role involves assisting with daily living skills, personal care, and behavioral supports as needed, including notes on student progress and field trips participation.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s degree or 60 college credits with disability-related course.
• Paraprofessional license (ISBE) required at time of employment.
• Experience caring for children with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reinforcing lessons for students with disabilities per IEP.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and personal hygiene support as needed.
• Assist with daily living skills and accompany students on activities.
