Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Paraeducator for Special Education for the 2026-27 school year in Minnesota. The full-time position covers 184 days at 6.5 hours per day, with a start date of 8/31/26. Insurance benefits apply for positions of 6+ hours daily.

Responsibilities include supporting students with disabilities in various classroom settings and assisting with behavior management and progress tracking. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, Quick completion of ParaEducator

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Personal Care Assistant certification must be completed within 30 days of start date.
• 60 semester/90 quarter credits or an associate degree (or higher) or passed ParaEducator/ParaPro exam.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and recordkeeping skills; ability to work with technology and staff.
• Must lift a minimum of 40 pounds and work physically in the building.

Responsibilities

• Assists in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings.
• Manages behavior by redirecting or removing disruptive students.
• Monitors and records student progress in academics and daily living skills.
• Assists with personal care tasks including toileting, feeding, and dressing.
