Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• ParaEducator certification or ParaPro exam completed within 30 days of start date.
• 60 semester/90 quarter credits or an associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution.
• Documentation will be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room or center-based settings.
• Manage behavior by redirecting, calming or removing a disruptive student.
• Monitor and record student progress in academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, etc.
• Manage physical needs including toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, and transporting students in wheelchairs.
• Supervise students and take direction, maintaining regular attendance.
