Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant for Special Education at Clover Hill High School. The role supports the special education teacher and students with IEPs, providing classroom assistance, testing accommodations, and clerical support.

Responsibilities include supervising students on buses, during meals, and in activities, implementing accommodations, and coordinating with related services providers as directed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
• Ability to supervise students and follow teacher instructions.
• Basic clerical skills and ability to use classroom technology.
• Training on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assists special education teachers with classroom duties, including recording grades, preparing instructional materials, and administering instructional and testing accommodations.
• Supports students during instructional activities (one-on-one, small groups, whole group) as directed by the teacher and documents progress.
• Assists students onto and off the school bus and supervises at lunch/recess as indicated in the IEP.
• Works with students under the direction of the special education teacher and related services providers to implement the IEP.
• Provides clerical assistance and maintains records, orders supplies and classroom materials.
