Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools seeks an Instructional Assistant to support classroom and environmental needs under the direction of a special education teacher. Duties include assisting with instructional activities, recording grades, preparing materials, and administering accommodations for students with IEPs.

Responsibilities also involve supervising students on the bus and at meals, providing clerical help, and following setup and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
• Ability to supervise students in absence of the special education teacher.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom duties including recording grades and preparing instructional materials.
• Support students during instructional activities (one-on-one, small groups, whole class).
• Supervise students on the bus and during lunch/recess as indicated in IEP.
• Implement accommodations per the IEP and assist with clerical tasks as needed.
