Job summary

The Salvation Army Northern Division Harbor Light Center in Minneapolis seeks a Housing Advocate to provide direct support to adults experiencing homelessness. You will build relationships, advocate for participants, and ensure a safe, welcoming shelter environment, helping navigate shelter expectations and access services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of experience supporting individuals, preferably in a shelter or client-facing setting.
• Must pass all required background checks.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered support to adult participants.
• Assist participants in navigating shelter policies, responding to crises, and maintaining a safe environment.
• Maintain accurate participant records and documentation.
• Promote engagement in available programs and connect participants with social services.
